One hour flight experience This is our most popular gift voucher and one that gives people a really good "hands-on" experience at the aircraft controls, or they can just sit back and enjoy the sensation of flight. During the 40 minutes in the air, you will cover a distance of about 60 miles around central Scotland. Popular destinations include Bothwell Castle, New Lanark, Tinto Hill and the Clyde valley or over towards Kilmarnock, Prestwick and the Clyde coast. If you live nearby we may even be able to see your house from the air! Your experience will start with a pre-flight briefing on safety and the aircraft's controls, which any friends and family are welcome to listen in to. There will then be an opportunity for photos before take-off from Strathaven Airfield. On your return, we usually have a runway fly-past for another great photo opportunity. As with all our gift voucher flights, if you get hooked on flying then the time will count towards the minimum hours required to gain your NPPL private pilot's licence.
