Flying Experience Gift Voucher T&Cs

 

Sportflight Scotland Ltd offers e-vouchers for introductory flying lessons with Fly Scotland at Strathaven Airfield subject to these terms and conditions. We use Robovoucher to publish the e-vouchers and Paypal to process payments. Each have their own terms and conditions.

Booking

To book, voucher holders should telephone Fly Scotland on 07716 371 091.

On the day of the flight, voucher holders should telephone Fly Scotland on 07716 371 091 to ensure that weather conditions are suitable before travelling to Strathaven Airfield.

Sportflight Scotland Ltd and Fly Scotland will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by the voucher holder or accompanying persons if a flight cannot take place due to any reasons beyond its control.

If a flight cannot take place for any reason including poor weather or aircraft unavailability, the voucher holder may make another booking. If this booking date is outside the validity period of the voucher, there will be no extra charge.

A booking may be cancelled by the voucher holder provided that 72 hours advance notice is given. If a booking is cancelled with less than 72 hours’ advance notice, a £50 cancellation fee may be charged by Fly Scotland to the voucher holder.

The Experience

 

Our e-vouchers entitles the holder to an introductory flying lesson for the stated amount of flight time. In accordance with aviation practice, “flight time” includes taxiing to the take-off position, the duration of the flight and taxiing back to the parking area after landing. 

Time spent on the pre-flight briefing is additional to the flight time and is not deducted from the flight time. Flights may take place in any of Fly Scotland’s aircraft.

 

Voucher Validity

 

Vouchers are valid for 9 months from date of purchase. If a flight is not booked within that time, the voucher automatically becomes void without refund.  

If you are unable to use your Voucher within the validity period, the Voucher can be extended for a period of up to six months. There is a £25 administration fee for this. A Voucher can only be extended once and must be done while the voucher is valid. Extended Vouchers cannot be refunded.

Vouchers may be exchanged for any other services or products offered by Fly Scotland at any time during the validity period of the original voucher. A difference will be payable if the chosen product or experience costs more than the face value of your original Voucher. If your chosen product or experience is cheaper, we will hold the difference as a credit against another experience. In this case, the credit holds the same expiry date as the original Voucher. The credit cannot be used to pay for the cost of an extension.

Customers should also note that your Voucher must be presented on the day, in order to participate in the experience. If lost, we regret that Vouchers cannot be replaced.

 

Age, Size and Health Restrictions

For safety reasons, we have certain size, age and health restrictions. You are required to notify Sportflight Scotland Ltd and/or Fly Scotland of any relevant medical condition. In general, a relevant medical condition would be one that prohibited you from driving a car. 

Our minimum age is a responsible 12 year old. We have no maximum age. Our maximum weight is 110kgs. 

 

Experience Availability and Timings

 

These are given as a guide only. On the day, while Fly Scotland will do its utmost to keep to schedule, there may be some delays due to operational reasons, such as weather. If you arrive late for your flight time, we will do our best to fit you in that day, but we may have to cancel or shorten your flight so as not to inconvenience other customers. In that case, you may lose your voucher.

Description and Photography

We have tried hard to ensure that descriptions, illustrations and experience titles used are accurate. However, photographs and experience titles are intended to give a general idea of the experience described, and do not form part of any contract between you, Sportflight Scotland Ltd and Fly Scotland.

In Case of Problems

In case of a problem on the day, please speak to Fly Scotland so they have the opportunity to resolve any problems there and then. Any other complaints should be addressed in writing to Sportflight Scotland at the address below.

If you are not satisfied with your Voucher, please call us within 28 days of purchase and we will happily arrange a full refund. Refunds will be paid back onto the credit/debit card used to place the original order. No interest will be paid on the amount to be refunded. Refunds cannot be issued once a date has been booked with the provider.

 

All terms and conditions printed on the Voucher or accompanying documentation will be binding upon the voucher holder and Sportflight Scotland Ltd. If there is any conflict between these Terms and any terms and conditions printed on the Voucher or accompanying documentation, these Terms shall prevail.

 

The Contract (Third Party Rights) (Scotland)  Act 2017

A person who is not named on the face of the Voucher or experience purchase letter has no right under The Contract (Third Party Rights) (Scotland) Act 2017 to enforce any terms and conditions of booking.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, and are governed by and in accordance with Scots law. The purchaser and Sportflight Scotland Ltd agree that any problems fall under the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. All the clauses and sub clauses in our terms and conditions are independent of each other. If one clause or sub clause is invalid or unenforceable, this will not affect any other clause or sub clause.

The funds on Vouchers are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. In the unlikely event of the issuer of this product becoming insolvent, some funds on Vouchers may not be available to spend.
